We have an updated presentation on Habitat for Humanity and are looking for speaking engagements. Do you have a Bible study, book club, or other group that would be interested in hearing about the benefits of Habitat for Humanity? We would love to do a presentation to your group. Scam Using Habitat's Name

It has been brought to the attention of Habitat for Humanity International that online scammers are soliciting donations in the name of HFHI. Please follow this link to see an example of the email.

Several things that are of note:

• Emails from HFHI would come from name@habitat.org, not name@habitatforhumanity.org
• HFHI is based in Americus, GA. The phone numbers are wrong.

About Us

Habitat for Humanity of Miami County, Ohio is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
